Hey, Northern Ohio! Want to be part of a creepy, funny flick that screams “home”? A Strange Town is a homegrown tale about a journalist searching for ghost stories in a small Ohio town - only to uncover missing persons and supernatural secrets. It's cinematic love letter to Northern Ohio's legends and folklore, and we're calling on our quirky neighbors to bring it to life: audition now to join the cast, or submit your property to be featured as a location in the film!
About the story
A Strange Town tracks Abel Coleman, a journalist covering "all things weird," who stumbles into an isolated Ohio town crawling with cryptids, eyeless ghosts, and a shadowy cult. Alongside oddballs like diner owner Ally Hayman and undertaker Bart Loreman, he digs into a chilling conspiracy of missing locals and a cursed bloodline. It's spooky, it's silly, and it needs northern Ohio's finest to make it real!
Details
A Strange Town is a micro-budget indie film — a creepy, funny love
letter to Ohio — shooting in and around Lorain from late May through the
end of July. Every dollar goes straight into building the world on
screen: sets, scares, and storytelling. That means there's no upfront
pay for cast, crew, or location use. But if the film sells for
distribution, location partners (like our actors and crew) will
receive a share from profits, as funds allow. It's a 95-minute
non-union feature headed to festivals nationwide, fueled by local
passion, good vibes, and plenty of on-set meals and snacks.
